A recessive gene causes black coats to be present in Poodles. Black coats can take a while to develop though, requiring multiple matings of the potential and non-puppies

The Goldendoodle is more likely to have black fur because the Poodle is a recessive gene. It can sometimes make the coat red or brown, but it’s not too common.

This is because the first generation of offspring will have two sets of genes, or 50% from each parent.

Your Goldendoodle is likely to have a normal size, but if the family members of your puppy were small you may find that your adult dog will be as well.
